Vacuum Pressure Impregnation Treatment System (VPI)
Reducing costs is an ever increasing battle for many; we have recognised the VPI process has a valuable benefit to our customers.
VPI is the process of forcing the specialised insulating resin into the windings under vacuum pressure conditions resulting in a totally encapsulated winding.
The winding to be treated is placed in the receiving vessel, sealed and evacuated of air, thus, drawing the resin from the adjacent holding tank through the winding until totally submerged.
After draining, the winding is stoved at 160 deg centigrade for curing.
VPI process can be applied to both existing and new windings, including new motors.
Advantages of VPI
- Protection against hostile environments e.g. water, dust, vibration, heat etc.
- Greater winding strength
- Improved heat dissipation
- Superior electrical protection against failure
